This disc mainly introduces the methods of inner exercise and skills of pushing hands, including three sections and nine curves of body, shift of bodyweight between the empty and actual, the flexible steps and pushing hands. Pushing hands are in various forms of circularity, round chain, stepping and withdrawing step and free-style. Set 2: 108 Traditional standard Form of Wu-style Taijiquan
The core of Wu style taijiquan is still the “long 108 form”. The movements of Wu style are light and soft with a characteristic body lean to vector the energy in a specific direction.
Since it uses a relatively small “frame” it is appropriate to learn for just about anyone any age. In addition Wu style is particularly adept at eye control and turning the waist.
Though not as exciting as some other styles to watch it has a solid foundation and well thought out execution. Wu style has two main methods of practising the routines. The first is called the “square form” and is taught mostly to beginners to ensure precision as presented in Section 1. The second, called the “round form”, follows more natural movement patterns and is taught after the student has learned the correct details in the square form, which is the form presented in the following Section 3.
